Learning the alphabet out of order will mean you don’t have to silently sing the alphabet song in your head when you’re looking for a letter, which slows you down (at best…).
We’ve added images to the mix to throw you off your game, so once you’ve mastered your stack you’ll be unstoppable.
Multiple applications give enormous opportunities for improvement. Hours and hours of serious fun.

The numbers are often one of the first things we learn when we start our French adventure. They’re quirky and fun to learn but then we often forget about them in the rush to absorb everything else.
It’s only when we’re faced with a ‘real-life’ situation (shopping for clothes, catching a train, asking the time, buying groceries) that the importance of knowing your numbers hits home. And it’s not only knowing them, but knowing them out of order so you don’t have to start run through the whole series to find the number you need.
As always, we’ve graded them according to difficulty and have included the dreaded bêtes noires*, which are the same for everyone almost without exception: 4, 5, 14, 15 and 40 and 50 (did you think you were the only one to find these tricky?)
Multiple applications give enormous opportunities for improvement. Hours and hours of serious fun.

BEGINNER CHEAT SHEET :
Students love the Beginner Cheat Sheet when taking their first steps towards speaking, as we encourage them to put down the books and to concentrate instead on getting the words out. Of course, we never want to leave our students unsupported, which is why so many of them cherish their cheat sheets and have them close by at all times. You know what it’s like: you start a sentence, and you know what you want to say, but you get halfway in and realise you can’t remember if you need to say ‘en France’, ‘au France’ or ‘à la France’, for example. A quick glance down at the prepositions for countries graphic and you’ll be back on track tout de suite*.

ADVANCED CHEAT SHEET :
Students turn to the Advanced Cheat Sheet when they want to perfect their French, especially their verb tenses. The centrepiece is a deceptively simplistic-looking verb tense summary. In fact, it contains all you need to know about eight verb tenses, from their English translations, to their various constructions and sample conjugations for both regular verbs and exceptions. If ever you want to finally get those verb tenses straight in your head, this is the resource for you. En plus*, it’s so pretty to look at!

Do you ever find yourself tripped up by ‘all the little words’ when you’re expressing yourself in French.
Why is that? Oftentimes, these fundamentals of French are learned at the very start and never returned to, even though they crop up constantly, no matter your level!
Get to grips with these petits mots* once and for all over ten chapters and more than 400 exercises. Reminder sentences, fill-in-the-blank questions and a grammar grid to complete each week will ensure you make excellent progress. Prove it to yourself at the end of each chapter by taking the mini-quiz.
By this stage of your French learning, you have come across a whole host of concepts that you likely understood at the time (intellectually, at least) but have not yet integrated into your daily use.
The Challenge Series Precision exercise book helps you take a second look at these extremely useful elements and helps you get to grips things such as:
How to use direct and indirect object pronouns
The difference bon, bien, mauvais and mal
Why some adjectives are placed in front of the noun
When to use pendant, depuis and pour
The placement of adverbs in various tensesWith over 400 exercises across 10 chapters, you'll have plenty of chance to practise your skills, and while you may find the first couple of chapters fairly challenging, you'll notice a steady improvement with every page you complete
Coming up with the phrase you need at the right moment can be a tall order when travelling. Many phrase books are packed with vocabulary and phrases but often, by the time you've waded through them all, the moment has passed.
This booklet is designed to be as efficient as possible in delivering the right phrase quickly. The En Voyage booklet's clever tabulated design divides all the essential travel vocabulary you'll need into logical themes, meaning you can flip to the right place en un éclair*, to get you out of trouble (or even into it, if that's the type of traveller you are!).
Bon voyage*!
*in a heartbeat | *Happy travels.
Practice makes perfect, particularly when learning a language. As old-fashioned as it may sound, for some people there is no better way to learn than by writing something over and over until it sticks.
Whether you want to master your verbs, get to grips with all the little words, or work towards free-flowing conversation, these practice pads are the ticket. Take all three if you want to make sure you’re firing on all cylinders.
VERBS
With 25 pages amounting to 1500 chances to work on your conjugations, you’ll see the improvement with every page you turn. The innovative design means you can work on one verb per page or mix it up with up to 10 on one page.
Speaking of mixing it up, we recommend learning your verbs ‘out of order’ so you don’t have to run through the whole table to find the right words when you need them.
LITTLE WORDS
It’s often the little words that trip us up. Brainstorm a list of 20 English nouns, translate them to French. Work your way across the sheet and livre (book) becomes the book, a book, my book, my books, this book, which book and so on.
CONVERSATION
Prove to yourself that you’re making progress by keeping note of your conversations. Pair up with another French-speaking friend and commit to chatting for 15 minutes in French. Note down any words or phrases you find you’re missing, then look them up when you stop. Note them down, repeat the exercise and marvel at the difference.
À vos stylos* and let’s get to work!
Pick up your pencils*
We all know the feeling of trying to express a thought in French and though the individual words all translate to what you want to say, your sentence lacks authenticity and you’re aware it just doesn’t sound right.
The fix? Learning not just French words, but French phrases. By this, we don’t mean rote-learning grabs of French for the purposes of travel.
The Challenge Series Phrases exercise book brings together sets of authentic phrases and methodically reorganises them over ten chapters and more that 400 exercises. Working through the book will elevate your French to the next level and allow you to start expressing what you really want to say, in natural-sounding French.
Get your French to stick with these gorgeous little bubbles of colour designed to perk up even the dreariest of grammar texts.
Trust us, you're not alone if you find numbers and prepositions a challenge in French. Almost everyone does, which is why we created this A5 mini cheat sheet with les numéros* 0 - 100 on one side and les petits mots* on the other.
Never again confuse 14,15, 40 and 50 and know your au from your aux from your du. Sounds like a foreign language, doesn't it? Not for long.
